Unique Lactobacilli Strains isolated from Kefir Grains and specifically adapted to grow and expand in various substrates
The manufacturing process of BiolActis’ Multi Plex Matrices is complex and took over 10 years of research before being optimized. In the first phase of production, unique Lactic Acid Bacteria, proprietary to BiolActis, are used to grow and expand various protein substrates. These LAB, from the Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens specie, were isolated from kefir grains and were selected based on their robustness, their properties to produce exopolysaccharides (EPS) and to grow in non-supplemented substrates. Moreover, due to the secretion of proteases, these unique bacteria allow the hydrolysis of proteins during the fermentation process leading to a novel population of peptides and polypeptides. This original complex biological mixture has been identified as a Multi Plex Matrix (MPM) by BiolActis.
Today, BiolActis is the sole owner of a large bank of different MPMs with various technical and physiological characteristics as well as multiple health benefits. These products are the results of using different LAB Strains along with specific conditions in the production of the company’s novel Biologics.
